We are Rosita & LaRonda, and Root Design Company is our passion project.  We love flowers and believe everyone should have more flowers in their lives.

In 2015 we plowed up our first official garden and became entrepreneurs. It has been one of the best decisions of our life, and if you think you might like to try something like it we will be the first ones to holler “GO FOR IT”. Seriously. What are you waiting for?

Our path as flower growers has pivoted and shifted yearly until we’ve found our sweet spot: teaching others how to start a flower farm & use it to make a nice side or full-time income. We’ve flowered many weddings and other big moments, hosted on farm workshops and flower events, arranged market bouquets and bespoke arrangements until our fingers turned brown… all while doing this as a side hustle.  We wanted to prove it could be done in the margins, and we’d like to teach you how to do it, too.

There are certain parts of a flower business that are better suited to the side hustle model (full-service weddings are not one of them!), so we honed in on what that was and let everything else go.

2022 has brought BIG changes for us. We both got married and moved to new communities. Flowers are deeply rooted in our hearts, so it was with a little sadness that we said goodbye to our beloved garden and studio – and gardening together! Root Design will be uprooted for a while, but the beauty of this is that now we get to test all of our theories all over again… in our own brand new gardens, and for one of us, in a whole new hardiness zone.  We hope you join us as we learn together.
